Changelog — Frequently Asked Questions
What is this changelog for?
It's a running record of every meaningful update to ASMR Sanctuary — new sounds and visuals, new tools and pages, fixes, and improvements — grouped by version number with the date each version shipped. It starts at v1 and runs up to the current release at the top.
How often is the changelog updated?
A new entry is added whenever a version ships, which has ranged from roughly weekly during active build-out to less frequent now that the core toolkit is complete. The "Updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent entry added, not necessarily the site's last edit.
What do the New, Improve, and Fix tags mean?
New marks a feature, page, sound, or visual that didn't exist before. Improve marks a change to something that already existed — better performance, layout, or accessibility, for example. Fix marks a bug or broken behaviour that was corrected. Most versions mix all three.
Is ASMR Sanctuary still free with no signup?
Yes, and that hasn't changed across any version in this changelog. There's no account system, no email capture, and no paywall anywhere on the site — every sound, visual, and tool has been free and open since v1.
Is my data stored anywhere when a new version ships?
No. Journal entries, saved mixes, streaks, and settings all live in your browser's local storage, never on a server. Version updates change the site's code and content only; they don't touch or migrate any data you've saved, since none of it leaves your device in the first place.
Why did some sounds or visuals get renumbered or moved between versions?
As the sound and visual libraries grew toward their current totals, new items were added in batches rather than all at once, which is why you'll see entries like "Sounds #43–56" or "Visuals #75–78" in older versions. The numbering reflects the order items were added, not any ranking or category grouping.
Where can I suggest a feature for a future version?
Use the feature suggestion box on the Contact page, added in v50 specifically for this — you can submit an idea and upvote existing suggestions from other visitors. Popular requests from that box have shaped several past versions.
Does the changelog cover every single small fix?
It covers meaningful, user-visible changes rather than every code commit. Minor copy edits, internal refactors, and routine dependency updates generally aren't listed individually; site-wide passes (like the icon and CSP fixes in v69) are summarised as one entry even though they touched many pages.
How do I know which version I'm currently using?
Since ASMR Sanctuary is a website rather than an installed app, you're always on the latest version when you load the page — there's no separate update step. If you've installed it as a PWA, the Service Worker will fetch the newest cached version automatically the next time you're online.
What's the difference between this Changelog and the What's New section on the home page?
The home page's What's New section highlights only the latest release in brief, right where you land on the site. This Changelog page is the complete, permanent history — every version from v1 onward — for anyone who wants the full detail or wants to check when a specific feature was added.
