Why a dedicated meditation timer matters

Meditation apps with subscription paywalls, dashboards, streak guilt, and notification spam pull you back into the same attention economy you were trying to escape. A clean timer that just runs — and stays out of the way — is often the most underrated meditation tool you can have.

This timer is fully client-side: nothing leaves your browser. Close the tab and there is no log, no profile, no “you missed 3 days” email next week. Open it again whenever you want, set a length that fits the moment, and start.

FAQ

Why don't I need an account?

Meditation timing doesn't require user data. We synthesise the bell sound in the browser via Web Audio API — no audio file, no server call, no analytics. Your session is yours alone.

Can I use this offline?

Yes. After the page loads once, our service worker caches everything. Open the page in airplane mode and it works identically.

What's the best interval bell setting?

For beginners, 0 (no interval — just start and end bells). For longer sessions (20+ minutes), every 5 minutes can help re-anchor attention. Some teachers prefer no interval bells at all, arguing that the urge to check time itself is something to notice and release.
