Frequently Asked Questions
What is Relaxation Radio on ASMR Sanctuary?
Relaxation Radio is a continuous ambient sound stream that auto-plays curated soundscape sequences without interruption. Unlike the sound player where you choose each sound, Radio blends tracks automatically — ideal for background listening during work, rest, or sleep without managing a playlist.
How is Relaxation Radio different from individual sound players?
Individual sound players let you control and layer specific sounds. Radio is fully automatic — it transitions between sounds on a programmed schedule, creating variety without requiring attention. Think of it as ambient background radio rather than an active listening tool.
Can I sleep with Relaxation Radio on all night?
Yes, with volume considerations. Set volume to 50–60 dB (quiet conversation level) and ensure your device is plugged in. The Radio uses the Web Audio API, which means it runs directly in the browser at very low CPU load. Enable sleep mode in the Radio settings to lock to only sleep-appropriate sounds.
Does Relaxation Radio use data or downloads?
All sound is synthesised in your browser using the Web Audio API — no audio files are downloaded and no streaming data is used after the initial page load. Once the Radio page is loaded, it works independently of your internet connection.
What types of sounds play on Relaxation Radio?
Radio rotates through: rain and water sounds, nature ambiences (forest, birdsong, ocean), fire (fireplace, campfire), binaural focus and sleep tones, ambient music (lo-fi, piano, ambient electronic), and seasonal soundscapes. You can filter by category in the Radio settings.
Can I skip or repeat a sound on Relaxation Radio?
Yes. The Radio interface has skip-forward and restart-track controls. You can also set a favourite sound to repeat indefinitely while Radio otherwise continues its automatic rotation after you clear the loop.
What is the difference between Radio and the Sounds library?
The Sounds library contains 50+ individual sound players with detailed controls (volume, EQ, binaural settings). Radio uses a simplified interface designed for effortless background listening without management overhead. Advanced users may prefer the Sounds library; Radio is better for passive use.
Does Relaxation Radio work with smart speakers?
Radio plays through any browser-connected audio output including Bluetooth speakers and smart display browsers (Amazon Echo Show, Nest Hub). For smart speakers without a screen, cast the tab from Chrome on your phone or computer using Chromecast or similar technology.
Can I set a sleep timer on Relaxation Radio?
Yes. The Radio settings include a sleep timer (15, 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes) that fades the audio gently to silence and stops the browser from staying active. This prevents overnight power drain and avoids the device staying awake unnecessarily.
Is Relaxation Radio accessible for users with visual impairment?
Yes. Radio controls are fully keyboard-navigable and labelled with ARIA attributes compatible with screen readers. All controls meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements. You can operate the full Radio interface without a mouse.
